Instructor

Prior to joining the UGA faculty in Fall 2023, I taught at Penn State for 15 years, teaching courses on early Jewish and early Christian literature. In 2005, I graduated from Harvard University where I did graduate work in biblical and religious studies, with a focus on New Testament and Early Christian History. Before teaching, I worked in acquisitions editing at Baker Publishing Group, where I acquired, developed, and edited a wide variety of books, including biblical reference works. Besides working with texts, I have worked on several archaeological excavations--Tel Hadar (Israel), Ashkelon (Israel), and most extensively at Umm el-Jimal (Jordan)
