Dr. Nanette Spina
is an Assistant Professor
of South Asian Religions at the University of Georgia. Her research interests
include Hindu traditions in India, Sri Lanka and North America. She is currently
working on a book based on a field study of a Sri Lankan Tamil Hindu immigrant
community in Toronto, Canada and the ways in which religious traditions
are (re)constructed and (re)presented in a diasporic context.
Dr. Spina teaches courses on South Asian religious traditions in the Department
of Religion and also serves on the faculty of the Center for Asian Studies
at the University of Georgia.
