Professor Emeritus (deceased)

WILLIAM L. POWER (1934-2020) was Professor Emeritus of Religion at the University of Georgia. He received his B.A.E. at the University of Mississippi and his MDiv and PhD at Emory University. He published in the fields of historical theology, systematic and philosophical theology, and philosophy of religion, and his works appeared in monograph form, as chapters in books, and journal articles. He served on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the American Academy of Religion and the International Journal for Philosophy of Religion. He was also past president of: the American Academy of Religion, Southeastern Region, and the Society for Philosophy of Religion. From 1967 to 2015, he taught courses on historical, systematic and philosophical theology, and philosophy of religion.
